A to Z of Services

  • Allotments

    The Town Council lease two allotment sites from the District Council: DeVerdon Road, with 74 Plots and Crescent Road with 10 plots. All allotment administration is carried out by the Town Council staff who maintain a waiting list. Telephone 01455 557271 for further details.

  • Animal fouling

    Should you witness an incident of dog fouling, please report it to the District Council's Enforcement Team on 01858 821108 or 01858 828282.

  • Bowls (game)

    The Lutterworth Bowling Club has their club facilities on the Coventry Road recreation ground. Bowling is open to members of the public as well as Bowls Club members. Details for hiring are displayed at the bowling green.

  • Bus stops and shelters

    The Town Council has provided a number of bus shelters throughout the town and ensures that the shelters are cleaned on a monthly basis, in addition to being inspected and maintained regularly. Two shelters in George Street were replaced in 2008 and a new shelter is due to be located outside the Texaco garage on Lower Leicester Road.

  • CCTV surveillance

    Lutterworth is covered by six CCTV surveillance cameras that are provided by Harborough District Council. Should you witness an incident, please report it to the police on 0116 222 22 22, or dial 999 for emergencies.

  • Car parks

    Lutterworth Town Council owns the Coventry Road recreation ground car park. Harborough District Council owns and maintains the George Street and Station Road car parks, for which the first hour of parking is free. The Town Hall car park is owned and maintained by Leicestershire County Council.

  • Charities

    Lutterworth Town Hall was provided through public subscription for use as a meeting place for Lutterworth. It dates from 1836 and it is administrered as a charity by a separate body of Trustees. The Town Hall Charity Trustees are financially supported by the Town Estates Charity. The Town Hall is used for the monthly Town Council meetings and by various groups in the town.

  • Citizens Advice Bureaux

    The Lutterworth Citizen Advice Bureau is located at the One Stop Shop in Gilmorton Road. Telephone 0844 8489009. Opening times are Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 10.00 - 12.00 and 13.00 - 15.00.

  • Community centres

    Lutterworth Town Council owns and maintains the Pavilion on Coventry Road recreation ground, which offers four excellent changing rooms with showers and a very well equipped club room. The club room is extensively used during the day for playgroups and senior citizen groups. This is a very popular venue for meetings, children's birthday parties and family parties.

  • Community grants

    The Town Council has a grant aid policy, further details of which can be found in the Council Info tab located in the left hand column. Harborough District Council also has a pot of Section 106 Developer Contribution Funds and there is further information provided in the Latest News tab on the left hand column.

  • Council offices

    Lutterworth Town Council's Offices are currently based at the Swiftway Centre on Central Avenue and are open from 9.00 - 13.00 Monday to Friday. The office can alternatively be contacted on 01455 550225.

  • Country parks

    Lutterworth Country Park is located off Brookfield Way and is owned by Harborough District Council. Any queries relating to the Country Park can be submitted on 01858 821282.

  • Crime prevention

    Should you witness a crime, please report it to the police on 0116 222 22 22, or dial 999 for emergencies.

  • Entertainment and events

    Lutterworth in Bloom The Town Council encourage businesses and organisations in the community to enter the annual ‘Lutterworth in Bloom’ competition during the month of July, whereby cash prizes are awarded to the winners of the best floral displays in three categories: Best Private Garden, Best Public House and Best Business / Community Building. Feast Week Feast Week is an important annual event, which celebrates the Feast of St Mary and is traditionally held during August. A fair visits the town and sporting, social and recreational events are held during the week culminating in a carnival and procession on the Saturday. This event always draws large crowds from within and outside of the town. Christmas Lights The Town Council organises a Christmas Lights Switch On event that usually takes place on the last Friday evening in November from 17.00 - 21.00. There is entertainment in the Town Hall Square from our local schools and colleges, a fair, Santa and the local traders open for late night shopping, offering special Christmas promotions.   • Litter

    Should you wintess any incidents of fly tipping or littering in the town, please contact Harborough District Council's Enforcement Team on 01858 821108 or alternatively 01858 828282.

  • Litter bins

    The Town Council owns and maintains a number of litter and dog bins around the town.

  • Markets

    Lutterworth Town Estates Charity organises a market in the town every Thursday and enquiries should be directed on 01455 559430. A Farmers' Market takes place on the second Saturday of each month and any enquireies should be directed to Leicestershire Foodlinks

  • Memorials

    The Memorial gardens and Memorial are maintained by the Town Council, and there is a town flag pole, which was kindly donated by Mrs Joan Page in memory of her husband Peter, who was lost in the 2nd World War.

  • Parks and gardens

    Coventry Road recreation ground The Coventry Road recreation ground is held in trust by the Town Council who have provided play equipment for the under 7’s and under 14’s, skateboard equipment, a multi-court and youth shelter. The recreation grounds are open access to the community of Lutterworth and home to Lutterworth & Junior Football club, who use the grounds every Sunday during the football season. Crescent Road recreation ground The Crescent Road recreation ground is leased from the District Council. The Town Council has recently provided a new under 7’s play area and teen equipment at this location. There are strict bylaws for the recreation grounds, which include “dogs must be on leads”.

  • Parks and grounds maintenance

    The Town Council annually provide and maintain summer and winter floral displays at the Memorial Gardens, throughout the town and at the entrances to the town.

  • Public conveniences

    Public conveniences are provided at the Coventry Road recreation ground and maintained by the Town Council. The George Street public conveniences are provided and maintained by Harborough District Council.

    The Records Office is located in Long Street, Wigston 0116 257 1080.

  • Sports and recreation facilities

    Lutterworth Sports Centre is located on Coventry Road and was opened in 2004. Facilities include a well-equipped gymnasium, swimming pool, sports hall and have proved a most popular amenity for people of all ages.

  • Street furniture

    Lutterworth Town Council owns and maintains the benches around the town.
